As with all writing assignments, great writing starts with doing serious, in-depth research. For a beer afficionado, what could be more enjoyable than "researching" beer!
Although I no longer drink beer due to health reasons, the editorial essays and reviews I wrote for Beer NW magazine were among the most fun as I was able to write in a fun, playful style appropriate for that audience.
